Christmas 2009
This year’s Christmas party included the handing out of the President’s award to Keith Whelen (pictured bottom) and the Searcher of the Year award to Norman Deschamps (pictured top), congratulations! Many thanks to Stella Walker and her assistants for organizing the successful event again this year and to those who brought a few extra refreshments for all to enjoy. QUACO 1209
Tri-County was called out on Monday Nov 30, for a mutual assist request from the RCMP and Sussex GSAR team. Two persons in their mid 20’s were reported missing over the weekend. They reported vehicle trouble while travelling through the back roads off highway 111 then all communications were lost. With little information to go on a search was initiated that covered a large area, requiring many people and equipment including the RCMP Helicopter, ATV’s and 4x4 vehicles. Numerous volunteers, including friends and family, with 4x4 vehicles and ATV’s had turned out to help. Thankfully the two managed to walk out of the woods on their own Monday afternoon; they were tired cold and hungry but otherwise in good health. Night Operation
Tri-County members get ready to initiate a search on Saturday November 20. In the very early hours of the day Tri-County received a call to respond after several individuals had become lost when the four wheel drive truck they were travelling in became stuck in a boggy area and they attempted to walk out of the woods. The trio were located safely about 5am by members of Tri-County shortly after initiating the search effort. |
