Search and Rescue Services for Regional Police Forces and National Parks
Locate, Access, Stabilize and TransportOur mandate is to locate, access, stabilize and transport lost, missing or injured persons within our area of operation. Tri-County also responds to mutual aid requests from SAR groups in other parts of New Brunswick and upon request, from other provinces/states. Evidence SearchesTri-County provides evidence search services to police forces within our area. This most often involves closed grid searches in rural and wilderness areas when the police force cannot turn up evidence required for their investigations. Auxiliary Services for Disaster ResponseBecause of our training, management structure and communication capabilities, Tri-County also provides disaster response and special event services to various organizations within our communities and outside the province, such as the 1998 disaster recovery for Swiss Air Flight 111. Preventative Search and RescueThe best searches are those that never happen because someone knows how to avoid getting lost in the first place. Tri-County is accredited to provide preventative search and rescue training to the community, primarily through the RCMP sponsored Hug-a-Tree Program. This educational program for children in Kindergarten to Grade 6 has been delivered to over 4,000 children in our tri-county area over the past three years. |
